The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested David Lee Martin of Vero Beach on July 21st, 2010 on charges of Attempted Murder of shooting of Ronny Bailey.
Mr. Martin and Mr. Bailey are both employees of Community Auto Recycler’s Salvagers of Vero Beach, where the shooting occurred. When Indian River County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived on scene they were advised by a witness that after hearing what they described as a “loud boom”, David Lee Martin was seen with a side by side, double-barrel shotgun, with the barrel open, removing shotgun shells from the barrel. The victim was observed lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the face. David Lee Martin was taken into custody at the scene without incident. Mr. Bailey was transported to Indian River Medical Center in critical condition.
