On Saturday, September 29, 2012 between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office will be collecting expired or unused prescriptions.  “The number one problem today in Indian River County, is the abuse of prescription drugs.  Please help us by turning in your unused or expired drugs.” said Sheriff Deryl Loar.

 

Citizen’s every day are disposing of prescription drugs in the wrong manner or these drugs are getting into the wrong hands.  Please turn in your unused or expired prescriptions to one of the listed drip off sites.

 

We will NOT accept from pharmacies, Medical personal or Doctor’s Offices.  According to FSS 499.028 (9) Regulation of Trade, Commerce, Investments and Solicitations (Drug, Cosmetic and Household Product), “ALL OUT-OF-DATE DRUG SAMPLES MUST BE RETURNED TO THE MANUFACTURER OR DISTRIBUTOR OF THAT DRUG SAMPLE”.
