Law Enforcement Agencies throughout Indian River County joined members of the Indian River County Special Olympians and the Abilities Resource Center at Ercildoune Bowling Lanes in Sebastian on Wednesday morning, April 18, 2012, for the annual Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run, to raise community awareness for the Special Olympics.  This event is held each year prior to the Special Olympics Florida State Summer Games.

Led by the torch bearer, they traveled south on US 1 and ended at Friendship Park behind the Sebastian Police Department. The run was followed up with a Bar-B-Que.

Funds for the Law Enforcement Special Olympics are generated through contributions from individuals and businesses and through sales of the popular Torch Run T-Shirts and caps.
