Operation Medicine Cabinet, a pharmaceutical take back program, was held on April 28, 2012 at several different locations throughout Indian River County.  The operation was a “huge” success taking in 367.05 pounds of drugs and has “tripled” in size in just four (4) years.

Operation Medicine Cabinet helps to keep drugs from being introduced into the ground and water by improper disposal.  It also alleviates the possibility of the medications falling into the wrong hands.

“I am extremely proud of how successful this program has been with the support of the citizens of Indian River County”, said Sheriff Deryl Loar.
