Transportation

The responsibilities of the Transportation Unit include inmate transportation from the correctional facility to court appearances. The unit is responsible for all intra-state extradition (inmates that must return to Indian River County for court appearances), transportation of inmates to the Florida Department of Corrections to begin their state prison sentences, transportation of individuals to New Horizons for mental health appraisals, transportation of individuals to the Mental Health receiving facility (Center for Emotional and Behavioral Health) transportation of inmates to various other facilities.
