Bud Spencer, Chief
Chief Spencer has been with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office since July of 1980. He has served in various line and leadership positions throughout the agency. Prior to employment with the agency, he worked as a Patrol Deputy with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and spent three years with the Santa Rosa County School Board as an Elementary Educator.
Chief Spencer’s wife Loma is an Elementary Educator with the Indian River School System. Bud and Loma have three children, Stephen, Josh, and Bethany.
Chief Spencer holds an Associate in Science Degree from Pensacola Junior College and a Bachelor Degree from The University of West Florida. He was a graduate of the FBI National Academy and has completed numerous hours of specialized training. He is an active Adjunct Instructor with Indian River State College.
