Legal Process

The Legal Process Unit is responsible for serving and or execution of writs, subpoenas, summons, orders for hearing, domestic violence injunctions, levies and relievin that are directed to the Sheriff from the courts, attorneys and other sources. The service area the the Legal Process Unit includes the cities of Vero Beach, Sebastian, Fellsmere, Indian River Shores and all unincorporated areas of Indian River County.

 

This unit is also responsible for the entry and removal of all arrest warrants within the Indian River County. These warrants are entered into the Sheriff's database as well as FCIC/NCIC systems. The Legal Process Unit is tasked with coordinating the extraditions of wanted subjects from out of state locations back to Indian River County for prosecution. This unit works closely with the Office of the Governor, private transportation companies and the U.S. Marshall's Office.
