The Citrus Capital Chapter VMCCA Presents the 14th Annual Fall Charity Collector Car Show - DREAM CARS OF FLORIDA will be held on Saturday, November 20th from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

45% of net proceeds donated to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office Explorer Post 556.

Deputy Roberta Barker

Providing young adults, ages 14 to 19 years, with the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of law enforcement procedures, duties, and concepts. Also, to enhance participant's sense of responsibility through knowledge, teamwork, and community involvement.

The purpose of this post is to provide young adults with an effective program designed to build good character, promote good citizenship and develop personal and mental fitness. Law Enforcement Exploring Post participate in a variety of programs and projects featuring training skills, development and service based upon Exploring Social, Service, Leadership, Fitness and Outdoor.

Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between the youth, organizations and the community.

Wondering how to get involved?

Ever wonder what it's like to be a Sheriff. What the life of a Sheriff entails? Are you the type of person who wants to help out your community in a positive way? This might be the program for you!

Who Are We Seeking?

To qualify for the position of Deputy Explorer you must be between the ages of 14 and 19 years, have completed the eighth grade, have at least a "C" average if in high school, be of good moral character, and have no serious arrests or convictions. In addition Deputy Explorers must meet the same basic physical requirements as a Deputy Sheriff.

How and Where Do I Join?

If you decide you want to become a Law Enforcement Explorer, and you feel that you meet the minimum qualifications, please feel free to contact me at the numbers listed below and fill out the provided application. We encourage any person who meets these criteria and who are uncertain of this program to call us or come check out a meeting and see for yourself how much fun it is.
