The Citizens Advisory Committee is a nine-member group made up of citizens that meet monthly. The Committee members are nominated by each Indian River County Commissioner, the Sheriff, and the Sheriff’s Collective Bargaining Union. Review the policy for more details. If you are interested in volunteering for the committee, please contact your Commissioner.
The committee’s mandate is twofold:
- To provide a public forum for constructive dialogue between citizens and law enforcement;
- To study relevant policies and procedures and provide recommendations, if any, for positive change.
Previous recommendations can be found in the Citizens Advisory Committee folder. Click here to view the previously submitted Citizens Advisory Committee Recommendation Reports.
